New temporary closing time
In accordance with Government legislation, with effect from Thursday 24 September 2020, the Club will have to close every evening at 10:00pm for the foreseeable future.
We already pride ourselves in being a COVID secure venue, by having a track and trace provision, social distancing and table service in place since we reopened on 4 July 2020, coupled with the addition of temperature checking of all Members and guests which we introduced a few weeks ago.
However, HM Government has asked all of us to go a little further, not only to safeguard our Members and Staff, but also to ensure that we play our part in defeating this virus.
Therefore, from Thursday 24 September 2020, the Committee would like to bring the following to your attention, to ensure that we remain COVID secure and comply with current Government legislation: -
Track and trace recording will become mandatory - we have had this in place since we re-opened on Saturday 4 July 2020 - no change here;
Table service only - again we have had this in place since we re-opened on Saturday 4 July 2020 - no change here;
Members of staff are legally required to wear masks when working - we already have a stock of disposable face masks for staff use, and staff will be informed of the new rules to ensure compliance;
Members are required to wear masks when indoors, unless seated and eating / drinking. This will sadly mean that Members will need to wear a mask when playing the machines, playing snooker or using the facilities etc;
Closure of the Club at 10pm - this means closed and doors locked. Last orders will be at 9:30pm, allowing for 30 minutes for drinking up time. We have a stock of disposable cups with lids available for Members to take home their drinks if they choose too.
We would also like to advise Members that whilst we have provided hand sanitiser, temperature guns and social distancing tables and chairs, we expect Members who visit the Club, to do so with their own face masks. However, we will hold a small stock that is available to purchase for a 50p donation to the Charity Bottle should you forget. This will however be a one time offer - just make sure you have your own mask next time you visit.
We are grateful that we still are allowed to access and make use of the Club during this period, and we are grateful for your continued support and we also hope that we are allowed to return to normal in the not too distant future.
